When you arrive to pick up your rental motorhome or campervan, we will demonstrate all of the features and the equipment it has and how it all works. Details on our 24 hour 7 day per week emergency breakdown service will be made available to you as well as our contact details should you need to talk to us.
We will also provide you with complimentary maps, campground directories and the facilities they provide, helpful suggestions on driving in New Zealand, things to see and do and answers to any other queries you may have will also be available to you.

We do not bank Bonds at the start of your hire and we do not have any extra charges

Kiwi Autohomes Motorhome Rental insurance PERSONAL TRAVEL INSURANCE
Personal injury in New Zealand is covered by the Accident Compensation Commission. We strongly advise hirer/s to take out a fully comprehensive travel insurance package prior to commencement of their travels which will also cover you for the rental vehicle excess amount as well as any loss or damage to personal items. Kiwi Autohomes Ltd offers a competitively priced fully comprehensive insurance policy on its web site.
INSURANCE OPTIONS
STANDARD INSURANCE
A compulsory charge of NZ$20.00 per day (maximum payable NZ$1500 or 75 days) addition to the daily rates will give you a maximum liability (Excess) of NZ$2000 (NZ$4000 for drivers 21 to 25 years of age) for any claim arising should the vehicle be damaged in any way or if damage occurs to any third party property regardless of who is at fault. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. The hirer will be responsible for any damaged or broken windscreens, tyre repairs or replacements and all items noted on the Exclusions list. The Bond of NZ$2000 (NZ$4000) which will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Agreement can be paid by Credit Card, Cash or Travellers Cheques in NZ Dollars. The Bond is fully refundable if the vehicle is returned on time to the agreed location, and providing the toilet and waste tanks are empty and the fuel is at the same level that was noted at pickup and no damage to the vehicle, third party property or any item on the Exclusions List is evident.
REDUCTION OPTION 1
The cost for this option is NZ$26.00 per day (maximum payable NZ$1875 or 75 days) in addition to the daily rates will give you a maximum liability of NZ$1500 (NZ$2500 for drivers 21 to 25 years of age) for any claim arising should the vehicle be damaged in any way or if damage occurs to any third party property regardless of who is at fault. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. The hirer will be responsible for any damaged or broken windscreens, tyre repairs or replacements and all items noted on the Exclusions list. The Bond of NZ$1500 (NZ$2500) which will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Agreement can be paid by Credit Card, Cash or Travellers Cheques in NZ Dollars. The cost for this option is NZ$37.00 per day (maximum payable NZ$2625 or 75 days) in additional to the daily rates will give you a maximum liability (excess) of NZ$500 (NZ$1000 drivers 21-25) for any claim arising should the vehicle be damaged in any way or if damage occurs to any third party property regardless of who is at fault. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. The hirer will be responsible for any damaged or broken windscreens, tyre repairs or replacements and all items noted on the Exclusions list. The Bond of NZ$500 (NZ$1000) which will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Agreement can be paid by Credit Card, Cash or Travellers Cheques in NZ Dollars. The Bond is fully refundable if the vehicle is returned on time to the agreed location, and providing the toilet and waste tanks are empty and the fuel is at the same level that was noted at pickup and no damage to the vehicle, third party property or any item on the Exclusions List is evident.
Tyre and Windscreen Protection Insurance
A cost of NZ$6.00 per day in addition to the daily hire rates, standard insurance or insurance reduction options will give you piece of mind cover when it comes to puncture repairs or windscreen chips/replacements. Any call out fees will not be covered.
BONDS
Kiwi Autohomes does not bank Bonds at the start of the hire…
The Bond is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned with the fuel at the level noted on the hire agreement to the correct location and on time and all other terms of the rental agreement have been complied with. If any damage is evident when the vehicle is returned the Bond will be used to cover the costs of repair up to the maximum amount of the liability chosen. However, if any damage is evident as a result any breach of items as shown on the exclusions list then the hirer will be held fully responsible for the total cost of any repairs required regardless of which Bond was taken.
INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS
Standard cover or Reduction Options 1 or 2 DO NOT COVER:
1. Damage due to immersion in either Salt or Fresh water for any reason and any associated costs for recovery or towing.
2. Filling the vehicle with the incorrect fuel. The hirer will be responsible for any associated costs of recovery or repair.
3. Costs to replace lost keys or to retrieve keys locked in the vehicle.
4. Any and all overhead damage taken from a line from the top of the drivers cab to the top of the vehicle or any underbody damage to the vehicle
5. Damage caused by theft, breakins, conversion, vandalism,or fire damage that is directly attributable to the negligence of the hirer or any other passenger in the vehicle.
6. Damage or breakage of any window or screen other than windscreens.
7. Personal belongings. We recommend that the hirer takes out personal insurance and does not leave valuables in the vehicle while away from it.
8. Any costs that arise due to negligence or any wilful damage caused by the hirer, any named driver or any person travelling in the vehicle.
9. Any damage caused to the vehicle or any third party property if the vehicle is driven by an unauthorised or underage driver or if the terms of the rental agreement are breached or any damage is caused to the interior of the vehicle
